Resort Rio to launch all-suite property

goa property fairPanaji: Focus on MICE and domestic tourists has helped Resort Rio avoid the slack in foreign charters in the ongoing season, said Anup Shah, promoter and managing director of the hotel, on Wednesday.
The 190-room property is achieved growth of about 35 per cent in revenues on the back of monsoon tourism, terrific year-end and robust arrivals from within India, he said.
Goa’s tourism potential remains good with domestic tourists fascinated with the combination of beaches and free style living, he added. Shah was speaking to media to announce Rio Royale, a new 60-room, all suite property, scheduled for launch in August 2016. It is located adjacent to the Resort Rio at Arpora and involves investment of about Rs 40 crore.
Most of our arrivals are from Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, and through-out the year. We are also focused on weddings, added Shah. For 2015-16 we are looking at annualised turnover of Rs 34 crore, he said.
About the upcoming Resort Royale, it is targeted at the upper-end segment of the market and has large rooms of about 75 sq mtrs. It will offer ultra luxury experience to guests with personalised service. Post commissioning of it we plan to expand capacity by another 60 rooms and construct a banquet hall with capacity of 800 people, said Shah.
Resort Rio and the future Rio Royale are spread over 12 acres of land and have banquet capacity of about 650 people, said Shah. Goa’s hospitality industry has room for more hotels and several new properties are in the offing, he said.
